Hi!

I’m a political scientist who studies how democracies weaken, how authoritarian legacies endure, and––more broadly––how data can help us better understand political change. At William & Mary, I teach comparative politics, research methods, and data visualization. I also develop data visualizations and interactive tools that make political science more accessible.

In addition to my appointment in the Government Department, I am a Faculty Affiliate in the International Relations, Public Policy, and Latin American & Caribbean Studies programs. Before joining William & Mary, I earned my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Chicago.

I welcome opportunities to collaborate with public and private organizations on research, data visualization, and projects related to democracy, governance, and Latin American politics.

Please explore the Teaching and Research pages to learn more about my work.
